What a transformation for this dancer. Her old sho What a transformation for this dancer. Her old shoes were her first pointe shoes from just September... a few points: ⚡️Alignment affected and unable to get on the platform correctly causing over compensating and putting stress on the Achilles too. Making it all so much harder work for her. ⚡️Platform SO small and such a rounded roly poly edge making it a huge struggle to balance and stay on it ⚡️Box shape far too tapered and narrow for her toe configuration and metatarsal shape which not only is uncomfortable but also affects placement ⚡️Sinking down into the shoe causing her toes to be on the floor and zero lift. Making her legs do all the work trying to pull up ⚡️Shank way too soft offering zero support. Even when new it would be too soft for her. Sure, choosing a shank isn't just about your level of pointe but many factors... but gosh this shank barely existed... ⚡️Paste of shoe WAY too light again offering zero support ⚡️Vamp far too long offering a terrible roll through with zero articulation and stress on the top of the foot ⚡️In other positions due to the shoes not offering the right features and support plenty of Sickling and causing the platforms to wear out unevenly.. When we are new to pointe we don't know what to expect. This is why when I fit beginners and even experienced dancers I break down and explain everything to the finest of details and help dancers understand what their needs are. Tonight I said goodbye to my Megan Moo. Nearly 17 Tonight I said goodbye to my Megan Moo. Nearly 17 years. I've had a rough couple of years to and thro to the vets being brushed off with "cystitis" and "urine infections" and even possible hyper thyroid. To eventually going elsewhere in October and finally getting a scan to be told she had a huge mass in her bladder that was likely cancer and not curable. Tonight It was a different vet to Mondays but anyway. This vet did feel her bladder and could feel a lump but said it was small like 1cm... strange considering the scan I had in October showed a huge mass in her bladder. The scan never came through to this vet's from the other. But either way, Megan had gotten so bad so something was def going on. Whether it was the bladder cancer they suspected or not. As mentioned in my other post: today I couldn't even syringe feed or hydrate her. And despite the sub q fluids tonight the vet said she was still dehydrated. On the last scan in October one of her kidneys was smaller than the other too. Which could have always been that way. What I have learned from this: if you guys ever have a cat with constant "cystitis" and keep being brushed off. Find a vet that will take you seriously. Get a scan. Although bladder cancer in cats isn't curable if you have a younger cat that can withstain surgery you could buy extra time. If the cat is in good health obviously.... I left her there. I usually bury my cats but wanted a day to think about it. But already I know I want to go back and get her and bury her. I know many don't but I guess because that's what I've always done I just don't feel comfortable with cremation. I did my very best Megan. At least I changed vets twice and finally on the 3rd time lucky found the best vets of the bunch.
